CarbonDivest.org stands distinct as a venture-backed entity, not confined to the framework of a not-for-profit organization. We channel the capital endowed to our corporation towards the monumental task of battling climate change, spearheading initiatives to extend our reach and resonate with individuals globally. Our message is clear and pressing: the responsibility to counter climate change is a shared one, and there exists a pathway for everyone to contribute easily yet significantly towards this global mission. Through sustained efforts to reduce the adverse effects of greenhouse gases, we envision a healthier, resplendent Earth that promises a nurturing habitat for humans and all air-breathing species — a world preserved in its full glory for countless generations to witness and cherish. We invite you to be part of this transformative journey to work alongside us in crafting a legacy of health, beauty and sustained harmony for our home planet.
My name is Suzanne, and I am the proud co-founder and Chairperson of CarbonDivest.Org. I dedicate my days to empowering indigenous communities to conserve their forests and biodiversity through initiatives such as carbon credits and economic development programs. Rooted deeply in the commitment to safeguard our planet's incredible biodiversity, I channel my passion and drive into nurturing a more aware and conscious society and believe that together we can mitigate climate change.
I am a member of the Samish Nation, a federally recognized Indigenous Nation in Washington State, U.S.A. I have a strong sense of preserving the heritage and cultural significance of the Indigenous communities worldwide and the quest to conserve the biodiversity of Tropical Rainforests and mangroves.
Having been raised in Latin America (Costa Rica and Nicaragua), I fostered an immediate appreciation and stewardship for the Rainforest and biodiversity loss caused by deforestation. I am directly involved with several Indigenous communities in South and Central America and am passionate about helping conserve the biodiversity of these high-risk deforestation areas.
At CarbonDivest.Org, we believe in the ripple effect of education and awareness. Through our non-profit endeavors, we strive to foster a culture of responsible stewardship for our planet, urging individuals and communities alike to make daily decisions grounded in consciousness and respect for our environment.
I see a future where everyone recognizes our natural resources' intrinsic value and their pivotal role in our survival and well-being. A future where the guardianship of our forests is not just a responsibility but a privilege, a collective endeavor that unites us all in the pursuit of a healthier, greener world.
My journey hasn’t just been about fostering awareness but empowering action through education. By highlighting the potential of carbon credits and economic development, I hope to pave a path of sustainable development that honors the wisdom and traditions of indigenous communities while heralding a new era of environmental consciousness.
I hold a steadfast belief that education is the bedrock of change. Through nurturing understanding and encouraging conscious daily decisions, we can all play a part in preserving the precious ecosystems that cradle our planet’s diverse flora and fauna. It is a journey of learning and growing, one where we can come together to forge a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
As I continue to forge this path of awareness and conservation, I invite you to join me in this deeply rewarding journey. I believe that together, we can foster a global community that prizes sustainability and consciousness, ensuring a vibrant and thriving home for generations to come.
I am always eager to connect with fellow environmental enthusiasts and advocates. Reach out to me to share ideas, collaborate, or exchange stories of hope and inspiration. Together, we can be the change we wish to see in the world.
I'm David, a devoted environmental advocate with a foundation in Software Engineering and Biochemistry. Over the past 9 years, I have been steering efforts to secure a healthier future for our planet, working relentlessly in environmental conservation and climate change mitigation.
My journey has been a remarkable expedition of learning and collaboration over the past 14 years. I have had the privilege of working closely with environmental partners and governments across Latin America, striving to secure Carbon Credit commitments under the REDD+ framework — an international initiative dedicated to reducing emissions from deforestation and fostering sustainable forest management.
Inspired by the Kyoto and Montreal environmental protocols, I deeply understood the nuanced world of Carbon Credits through the REDD+ program, appreciating its potential to conserve existing forest carbon stocks and enhance forest carbon reserves.
My roots lie in the breathtaking landscapes of Costa Rica, a place that nurtured my reverence for nature conservation and biodiversity. Growing up amid such diverse ecosystems, I understood early on the catastrophic implications of habitat loss on our flora and fauna. This grounding respect for nature was further fostered in the suburban Canadian community I was raised in, surrounded by wildlife enthusiasts, veterinarians, and environmentalists, all echoing the essential mantra of preserving our ecosystems.
Understanding the pivotal role of indigenous communities in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change, As one of the co-founders, we joined hands with a visionary Board of Directors to create CarbonDivest.org. Our mission is simple yet profound – to create a platform where businesses and individuals can support indigenous communities in offsetting their carbon footprint, enabling them to serve as the vigilant guardians of our planet's forests.
With a background in Software Engineering and Biochemistry, I bring a multifaceted perspective to environmental conservation, marrying technology with the principles of biochemistry to foster innovative solutions for our planet’s pressing issues.
The power of community and collaboration continually inspires me. I invite you to join us on this meaningful journey. Together, we can weave a tapestry of change, promoting a culture of responsibility and conscious living for the betterment of our world.
I am based in the heart of Argentina, a region renowned for its vibrant diversity and rich natural landscapes. My lifelong commitment has been to cherish and conserve South America's beauty and diversity, giving particular attention to the intricate rainforest ecosystems that breathe life into our planet.
My passion goes beyond mere conservation; it is a deep-seated desire to uplift the indigenous communities of Latin America. I work diligently to address their socio-economic challenges, guiding them towards a future of stability and prosperity. By empowering these communities, we not only protect our environment but also foster a society that is sustainable and inclusive.
At CarbonDivest.org, I leverage my extensive experience in investments and finance to structure and implement funding strategies for our initiatives. As an expert coach guiding our coordinators across various countries, I strive to ensure efficiency and consistency in all our undertakings. My guiding principle is simple: drive successful outcomes that benefit indigenous communities.
With a background rich in business development and investment, I bring skills honed over years of nurturing businesses to fruition. My vision is to translate this success to our conservation projects, shaping successful and sustainable strategies that foster economic and ecological growth.
As we forge ahead in our mission to protect our planet’s lungs and support those who hold traditional knowledge in stewardship, I invite you to join hands with us. Together, we can craft a harmonious future where nature and humanity thrive.
We also have an array of support staff internationally located who take part in various aspects and offices that bring together these connections with Indigenous communities and with the lawmakers in each country we are working with.
