CarbonDivest.org is a web APP developed by GreenForce Partners to engage users and elevate social awareness about Indigenous people across the planet who have long served as natural guardians of our forests and natural biodiversity. CarbonDivest identifies ways for individuals and businesses to offset their personal carbon footprint by supporting fund sustainable projects that positively impact the lives of people living in Indigenous communities.
Climate Change remains a topic that governments in many developing countries are not able to address easily given its complexity and the cost of implementing changes in their countries. For this reason, we also work directly with lawmakers in project countries to help reshape national policies towards preventing deforestation and support the Indigenous people who live in Rainforests throughout the Americas.
We continuously work to simplify the experience of offsetting carbon footprints through our web application. We have chosen to focus on these projects on our website for their current Green offsetting projects. We will add others over time, but we have found that the tribes of the Amazon and Central America are also suffering from hunger and poverty. They are the landowners and caretakers of these magnificent jungles but the rainforests are quickly being deforested by non-Indigenous parties. This trend is quickly having a disastrous impact on global climate by contributing to climate changes and causing a Greenhouse Gas Effect due to CO2 being trapped in our atmosphere.
Our goal is to make a difference one community at a time and fight climate change.
We are not a non-profit. To achieve our shared goals we work with venture capital provided to our corporation. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible with the message that we all need to fight climate change and that everyone can easily participate to help make that goal a reality. We aim to make the planet Earth healthier and more beautiful by supporting efforts to reduce the Greenhouse Effects so that humans and all other air-breathing species can enjoy living on our planet for many generations to come.
You can contribute by offsetting your carbon footprint through our website.
David has spent the last 9 years working on behalf of the environment and climate change, working with Environmental Partners and various Governments throughout Latin America to obtain Carbon Credit commitments in the REDD+ framework. REDD+ is an international framework whose name stands for 'reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, conservation of existing forest carbon stocks, sustainable forest management, and enhancement of forest carbon stocks. His appreciation for the Kyoto Protocols of the U.N. and the Montreal environmental protocols invoked him to learn about Carbon Credits through the REDD+ program.
David’s education and background are in Software Engineering and Biochemistry. He grew up in Costa Rica, where he grew a deep admiration for nature conservation, biodiversity, and an understanding of the devastating effects of rainforest and habitat loss to so many species. Understanding the importance that Indigenous communities have in the mitigation of Green House Gas Emissions and its effects on Climate change led him and his Board of Directors to form CarbonDivest.org - A place where businesses and individuals can support Indigenous communities by offsetting their carbon footprint and allowing them to take care of the planet’s forests.
David was raised in a suburban Canadian community full of wildlife and around veterinarians and environmentalists who quickly showed him the importance of taking care of our forests and the species that are part of the ecosystem.
Over 10 years ago, Mauricio and his wife, Teresa, and children together made a commitment to help in Climate Change mitigation through the conservation of the tropical Rainforests in his native land of Colombia. Mauricio has been endlessly successful in the discovery of new and sustainable methods of doing everyday things in our lives.
Since his childhood, Mauricio and his family have been involved in agriculture. They raised soybeans, coffee, and cattle. From an agricultural and ecological perspective, he has observed the direct impacts of deforestation in his country and has become involved in forest protection and sustainable land use, especially in the area of agriculture.
From recycling garbage to methods of creating energy to solar farms in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. Mauricio has a great passion for helping the Indigenous communities of Colombia and all Latin America to resolve the problems and challenges of the socio-economic hardships faced by the Indigenous communities. He knows and understands that the Indigenous communities hold the key to the conservation and preservation of the forest of the Amazon and all the biodiversity within it.

A bloodline member of the Samish Nation, an Indigenous Community in Washington State, U.S.A. Having been raised in Latin America (Costa Rica and Nicaragua), she fostered an immediate appreciation and stewardship for the Rainforest lands and biodiversity loss caused by deforestation. She has as a goal for the future the possibility to link all the Indigenous communities across the Americas in a Cap-and-Trade Carbon trading agreement that will benefit our planet and all the Indigenous communities across the Americas.
