I'm David, a devoted environmental advocate with a foundation in Software Engineering,Biochemistry and Environmental Engineering. Over the past 11 years, As the Visionary for the 2 tied together and related companies I have been steering efforts to secure a healthier future for our planet and people, working relentlessly in environmental conservation and climate change mitigation. I have devised the methodology to empower communities, both Indigenous and communities living in threatened and vulnerable ecosystem areas, utilizing blockchain technology and AI. Knowing that the best methods of regeneration for our planet can only be resolved through working closely with the people and communities of a vulnerable ecosystems and adopting and utilizing new technologies of both blockchain and AI to help resolve the problems.
My Journey with CarbonDivest.Org
As Co-Founder and Director of both CarbonDivest and IndigiBlock, my journey has been a remarkable expedition of learning and collaboration over the past 14 years. I have had the privilege of working closely with both governments and Indigenous communities across Latin America, Africa and Indonesia striving to secure Carbon Credit commitments under the REDD+ framework — an international initiative dedicated to reducing emissions from deforestation and fostering sustainable forest management. And Empowering the Indigenous communities of these fragile ecosystems.
Inspired by the Kyoto and Montreal environmental protocols, I deeply understood the nuanced world of Carbon Credits through the REDD+ program, appreciating its potential to conserve existing forest carbon stocks and enhance forest carbon reserves.
Roots of Passion
My roots lie in the breathtaking landscapes of Costa Rica, a place that nurtured my reverence for nature conservation and biodiversity. Growing up amid such diverse ecosystems, I understood early on the catastrophic implications of habitat loss on our flora and fauna. This grounding respect for nature was further fostered in Canada in University, surrounded by Climate change educators and experts and environmentalists, all teaching me and speaking about vulnerable ecosystems and resolving our greatest existential humanitarian/environmental crisis utilizing the latest technologies for the most impactful positive results..
CarbonDivest.org: Bridging Communities and Conservation
Understanding the pivotal role of indigenous communities in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change, As one of the co-founders, we joined hands with a visionary Board of Directors to create CarbonDivest.org. Our mission is simple yet profound – to create a platform where businesses and individuals can support indigenous communities in offsetting their carbon footprint, enabling them to serve as the vigilant guardians of our planet's forests.
